Big Day Ahead – Daily Prompt

Someone loves breakfast!

It’s the night before an important event: a big exam, a major presentation, your wedding. How do you calm your nerves in preparation for the big day?

I plan everything to a tee and leave nothing to chance.   But I always double check everything with everyone to make sure there is no confusion for the event.  But no matter the event, I always calm my nerves the same way.  Friends and family.   Continue reading

Rolling Over

A nice morning surprise to see my guy happy and "chatting" to his mobile!

I’ve been eagerly waiting and watching my little guy for any signs that he is going to rollover.  And so far nothing.  I won’t say I’m worried, he’s too smart for any of that nonsense.  We know he can, we’ve gone in his room because he rolled over and woke himself up (he hates sleeping on his back). But I want to see it happen! Gluten, Eczema, Similac

Our baby boy after a little Similac formula. I don't think we'll use that again.

So in the last couple months Watson has been seeing the doctor and trying to get healthy (finally *insert cheer*).  I swore to him that when he was ready to get healthy, we’d go all in and do it together.  We’ve gone to the nutritionist twice and have been making adjustments as we travel along our path to a healthier life style.  The big one for our house has been wheat.  I love white bread.  I love it so much there is no real way to perfectly explain to you how happy it would make me to have a loaf of Italian bread with butter for dinner.  LOVE it.  I’ve never eaten whole wheat anything.  I’ve hated wheat, rye, whole grain everything since I was a kid.  So when I say a big change, I mean huge.  Whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat crackers, and brown rice. The ingredients can not say enriched wheat, it has to be stone ground.

Since this change I’ve been having more and more stomach problems.  I’m not talking a tummy ache after eating too much sugar pain.  I’m talking curled up in a ball in the corner of my bed praying the pain stops.  It got so bad I could barely nurse my son in the middle of the night. Customer Service

A small break to smile at me. The surprise Blue Jay getting a break from him attacking it. Poor birdie.

I usually find product issues to go one of two ways.  Either I never complain about it because I know it won’t go anywhere, or I submit a complaint and it doesn’t go anywhere. So imagine my surprise when I put in a product complaint, and the company turned around and fixed it in a matter of days.  Not only did they fix it, they sent something extra for my special little guy.

If you don’t know what Evenflo’s 3-in-1 Exersaucer is, you need to find out.  My little guy absolutely loves it.  I’m all about ways of saving money and saving space.  This is loaded in toys and activities for him to play with.  One of the major reasons we bought it was because it would grow with him from tummy time, to exersaucer, to activity table.   And it’s been amazing to see him grow up over these few months with it.  But we ran into a small problem.   Continue reading

Car Seat Hunting

How could you let him ever sit in something uncomfortable? I know, I'm a sucker....

So my little guy has been expressing his discomfort with his car seat as of late.  He’s spending more time in as we take him to grandma’s for in the morning, he runs errands with her, and then pick him back up in the afternoon.  So we officially started looking at other car seats.  Holy. Crap.  There are tons!  I had no idea what to look for and was completely overwhelmed.  Luckily, on one of the many mommy blogs I read, I tripped over a comment about Car Seats For The Littles.  Best thing that ever happened to me.  It’s great seeing all the questions from mom’s like myself, and the tech’s giving great advice.  Even better is seeing other mom’s post their experiences with different brands.   Continue reading
