So we’ve talked to the doctor and the dermatologist and I just feel frustrated. I know he’s not two, you don’t have to remind me. I know that SO FAR his allergies have not proven to be life threatening. But do you have any idea what it feels like to stare at your child every time he eats? Every time he touches something or goes somewhere new? Do you know how it feels to panic when you realize you forgot to put the Benadryl back in his diaper bag? Or that you feel you have to pre-dispense it into a syringe so it’s ready to give to him the second he starts to show hives? Continue reading
My little guy turned one. How did that happen? He’s walking, showing interest in EVERYTHING, climbing, not quite talking but able to give you an idea of what he wants. I can’t believe that just a year ago we were worried about O2 and glucose levels and when, if ever, he would come home. Don’t you know his poor little hands broke out so red and swollen. His face and every part of his head that he touched broke out terribly. It’s so frustrating! Just when I think I’ve got it figured out, it all blows up on me again. Bananas. Are you freaking kidding me? And you know what? Continue reading
Watson and I finally made a tough decision. We’ve decided to wean our baby boy off of breastmilk and onto formula. Between gluten and cow’s milk allergies I’m too afraid to eat anything for fear of poisoning my son. And who knows if that is all he is allergic to! And at this point I’m so limited on what I can eat that I’m not getting enough calories to keep my supply up. Continue reading
