I’m a new mom, that’s obvious. And when he cries a terrible pain takes over my whole body, and I just want to do everything I can to make him happy again…. until now. We’ve suddenly hit this magic change where he sits on the floor and cries big fat tears over nothing. At first I was freaking out thinking something was obviously wrong. I’d pick him up and it would be over in seconds. Then I realized it only happened after I told him no, took something away that he shouldn’t have been playing with, or if I’m taking too long with his bottle. Continue reading
My little guy turned one. How did that happen? He’s walking, showing interest in EVERYTHING, climbing, not quite talking but able to give you an idea of what he wants. I can’t believe that just a year ago we were worried about O2 and glucose levels and when, if ever, he would come home. I can’t believe how in 1 year Watson and I went from being nervous new parents to running around an indoor jungle gym chasing after baby boy. Continue reading

I’ve recently become aware of a campaign initiated by a fellow blogger mom, Stephanie Sprenger, at Mommy, for Real designed to embrace the validity of the different ways in which we experience parenting and to uplift those of us who are struggling with its less glamorous moments. Stephanie launched her campaign yesterday with the twitter hashtag #sogladtheytoldme and asked some of her fellow blogger moms to participate by sharing their own experiences concerning parental challenges their friends warned them about in advance.
